Six Lambert boys varsity players have been named "All-County" for their outstanding play in the 2019 season. The players were selected by Forsyth County high school coaches.
Longhorn honorees are goalkeeper Chris Smith, defender Jay Patterson (also named defensive player of the year), midfielder Campbell Wilson and forwards Kyler Darsey, Thomas Powers and Hayden Fontana (also named offensive player of the year).
The 'Horns compiled a 16-1-0 record in the regular season and won the Region 5 championship. They outscored their regular season opponents, 55-5, and won 12 shutouts.
Last but certainly not least, Lambert head coach Chris Wilson was named Forsyth County Coach of the Year. Wilson has now won the Region 5 coach's award six times during his tenure as boys varsity head coach at Lambert. His teams have compiled a record of 164-35-4 during his Lambert career. They have also won one national championship, two state championships and six region championships. They have advanced to the finals of the 2019 GHSA soccer championships in 2019 with a record of 20-1-0.
