Longhorn Girls Cruise Past North Forsyth

March 15, 2019

The girls’ Varsity soccer team rode a dominant first-half effort to a comfortable 5-0 victory of the North Forsyth Lady Raiders on Friday night.

After tallying 19 shots on goal in the first half, the Longhorns found themselves 5 goals to the good as they reached the break.

Despite great ball control in the second half, the Longhorns failed to net another goal the rest of the way after a valiant defensive effort by the North Forsyth Lady Raiders in which defenders continually threw their bodies in harm’s way to block shot attempts.

By game’s end, Lambert outshot North Forsyth by a total of 33-0 as the stalwart Lambert defense earned their 7th consecutive shutout.

Goal scorers included Ellie Prybylski (2), Brooke Schuyler, Aja Celka, and Katelyn Castelli. Sydney Hennessey also chipped in with 2 assists.

The win runs the Longhorn winning streak to 10 in a row and improves their record to 10-0-0 overall and 6-0 in Region play.
