Tuesday night at the Horn, Lambert hosted Kennesaw Mountain in the GHSA playoffs, and rode a wave of second half offense to cruise to a 7-0 victory. A tight first half saw the Longhorns up 1-0 at the break, but from the opening whistle for the second half, it was all Longhorns.
Scoring two goals in the first 2:26 of the second frame, the ladies poured it on and coasted from there. M.E. Craven, Ellie Prybylski and Sydney Hennessey each scored two goals, and Alisa Barr had one. Madison Haugen supplied two assists, and Katelyn Castelli, Maddie Eddleman, Ellie Christensen and Craven each had one.
The defense was especially sharp on the night, not allowing a single shot on goal as the unit and goalkeeper Jordyn Ebert picked up their sixth straight shutout, and their ninth in the last ten matches.
The Longhorns are into the quarterfinals on Friday where they will take on Walton High School. The location of the match will be decided by a coin toss on Wednesday. Match time is TBD.
