Girls Beat South; Tie for Tops in Region

March 20, 2017

The Longhorns were on a mission to avenge a loss from earlier this season as they took on South at home on Thursday. Down a goal late, Lambert's M.E. Craven was fouled in the box, earning a penalty kick. Maddie Eddleman slotted home the kick to tie the match and send it into overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, the match went to the spot again to decide the winner. The Longhorns won the PK shootout, handing South their first loss in region play and creating a tie atop the standings. The celebration will be short-lived as the ladies go on the road Tuesday for a match at North at 5:30 p.m. The Longhorns took the first match with North at home 3-0. Hook 'em, Horns!
