Boys Show No Mercy Against North

Once the Lambert Boys figured out how to break down the opposition, the floodgates opened as the Longhorns ran away with a 10-0 victory on Friday night over North Forsyth. Stellar play from the North goalkeeper kept the match scoreless until Eoin Griffiths struck a left footed-shot into the upper 90 just before halftime. In the second frame, everything came together as the Longhorns exploded for 9 goals, 4 off the foot of John Conahan. Hayden Fontana, Zane Ziegler, Nick Alliston and Grant Plaugher also got on the scoresheet, and Avery Dekshenieks and Arda Urgen combined to kept a clean sheet in goal for the team's second shutout of the season. The boys will travel to South Forsyth on Tuesday

Girls Blank North 3-0

The Lambert Girls kicked off their 2017 conference campaign with a shutout of North Forsyth 3-0 on Friday night. Improving their overall record to 3-1, the Longhorns looked strong from the get-go, controlling the tempo and possession. Madison Haugen, Molly Hulett, Ellie Prybylski scored for Lambert; Megan Hong, Sydney Hennessy and Haugen had the assists; and Jordyn Ebert notched her second shutout of the season. Next up for the Lady Longhorns is road match against crosstown rivals South Forsyth on Tuesday, February 28th. Game time is 5:30 p.m. Hook 'em, Horns!

Girls Dominant in Longhorn Invitational

The Lambert Varsity Girls kicked off their season with two comfortable wins last week. Opening with Pinecrest Academy on Wednesday, the ladies never looked back in recording an 8-0 shutout. On Friday, they picked up where they left off, racing out to an 8-0 lead on Mountain View. Only a late penalty kick by the visitors prevented another shutout. The girls will next take on Grayson on Friday, February 17 on the road at 5:30 p.m. The teams have split their last two encounters and the Longhorns are eager to go one up in the series. Hook 'em, Horns!

Great Start for Girls and Boys Teams

Both Lambert varsity teams earned wins in their season-opening scrimmages against Mill Creek on Thursday night. The girls battled back from a 2-1 deficit to win by a final of 3-2. Katelyn Castelli, Ellie Prybylski and Madison Haugen notched goals for the Lady Longhorns. The boys shut out their opponents 2-0, with Eoin Griffiths scoring both goals. Next up is the regular season openers for both teams at home against Pinecrest Academy on Wednesday, February 8th. The girls will play at 6pm and the boys will play at 8.
