John Shroyer

This is Coach Shroyer’s first year with the Boys’ JV soccer team at Lambert High School.

Coach Shroyer grew up in southwestern Ohio and played club/travel soccer starting early in his childhood through high school.  He coached his first soccer team at age 16 when he and two of his fellow club teammates volunteered to coach a middle school team in the local recreational league alongside his father.  During his playing days, Coach Shroyer played forward, center midfield, outside midfield, and outside defense.

Shroyer coached soccer at Roswell High School and Cambridge High School prior to coming to Lambert.  At Roswell, Shroyer was the head coach for the JV boys team from 2008-2011, winning the inaugural JV region championship his last year.  At Cambridge, Shroyer was the head coach for the JV boys soccer team for the first two years of the school’s opening.

Coach Shroyer moved back to Ohio for three years and worked in the private sector at his family’s small business, but moved back to the Atlanta area again with his wife (a Lambert assistant cross country coach) in 2017.  After one year of teaching English coaching speech and debate at South Forsyth High School, Shroyer is happy to be a Longhorn and back coaching on the pitch again.
